The Universidad del Salvador (USAL) is a private Jesuit University founded in
1956. The USAL is considered to be one of the finest academic institutions in
South America, and with more than one hundred agreements with foreign
institutions, is a pioneer in international cooperation and student exchanges in
Argentina.
The
Universidad del Salvador, with academic excellence and international experience,
opens its programs to highly qualified international students who wish to improve
their knowledge and understanding of local and regional affairs. Students concentrating
in Latin American arts, culture, history, politics, literature, Spanish or business
benefit from the immersion in regular classes with degree- seeking students. A
high level of Spanish language proficiency is required.
The
USAL actively promotes faculty and student exchanges as well as internship programs.
Yearly, it receives over 300 international exchange students in its classrooms
from Brazil, Canada, Mexico, United States, France, Spain, United Kingdom, The
Netherlands, Sweden, Japan, Germany, Finland, Iceland, etc.

USAL urban campus is located in the heart of
Buenos
Aires cultural and business center. Buenos Aires, capital city
of
Argentina,
is a sophisticated metropolis, with one of the largest concentrations of Spanish-speaking
people in the world. Situated on the Rio de la Plata, 100 miles from the Atlantic
Ocean, it is a major port and the center of all activity in Argentina.
Most
Schools and Departments are within a ten-block radius in the downtown area. The
University also has a campus, "Nuestra Señora del Pilar", (located
54 km from central Buenos Aires) that offers the same degrees as the urban campus,
and where students may also take advantage of the sports facilities.
Student
body
The
USAL has 18,000 students distributed among 74 undergraduate degree programs and
81 graduate degrees. Among the most traditional and largest programs are Medicine,
Tourism, Social Sciences, Modern Languages, International Trade.
USAL's
experienced staff in the management of international programs assists students
regarding course, housing, visa and health matters.
